OPI & Nicki Minaj Collection!

So today I was going to go on the OPI site really quick to check the other name in the Miss Universe collection (I always forget 'Congeniality is My Middle Name'!) and I saw this:

I STARTED FREAKING OUT!  Not because it's an OPI - Nicki Minaj collection but also cause NO ONE HAS SAID ANYTHING!  Normally I find out about collections months in advance because I follow a million nail polish blogs and a lot of times they have press releases.  So this isn't a press release but I organized this in a nifty little post for you people!

Well the cremes don't seem too original but I don't have anything like these so I'm still gonna ask for 'em for my birthday (btw these come out in January 2012 and my birthday in February (hint hint wink wink)).  The one's that I want are 'Save Me' and 'Metallic 4 Life' and I wouldn't mind Getting 'Super Bass Shatter' because even though I don't really like shatter if the trend comes back I'm gonna want to have this.  Plus, I like the name and the pretty shimmer.  But one thing that's really cool is that this collection has a shatter, cremes and GLITTER!  Anyways, is anyone as psyched as I am for this collection???

I'M BAAAAACK!!!!

Ok well I got a complaint email from my friend and follower Olivia about how I haven't posted anything in FOREVER!   Well it's actually only been like four days but in the blogging world thats like a year.  BUT!  I have a good excuse- my dad.  At 10:05 I was in the bathroom downstairs and I was told to be in the bed at 10 and I wasn't.  So me and my sister each lost the use of the computer for two days but after school on Friday I had to clean up stuff and then go to a sleep over and am just now getting the ability to blog.


Now, about the 31 Day Challenge.  WHAT THE CRAP WAS I THINKING?!?  Well for one I was thinking Mimi was going to help and she hasn't. AT ALL.  But we don't even share a blog so what ever.  But I've never done nail art.  And I'm not able to wait for my dad to come home to use his phone (which doesn't even give that good of pictures anyways) and then I would have to blog and post and I just don't even have enough time.  So, I'M NOT QUITTING! I'm just postponing it until this summer.


So from now I'm just swatching and I'll start practicing nail art (no promise it'll be good!).

Day 10: Gradient Nails

I've never done a gradient mani.  I'm not really too sure this counts as one but look and see for yourself  it is pretty though.  And this is the last one in the first chunk of the challenge!  here's a reminder:

So for this I used this polishes one coat of everything except 'Nail Junkie'  (I LOVE that name!)

I started out with one coat of 'Brisk Blue' then a coat of 'Love Nails'.  I sponged on 'Glee' on 2/3 of each nail.  Covered the top third in a coat of 'Nail Junkie' and re-sponged on top of that again.

Here's a close up.  There's a lot of gold shimmer and glitter in 'Nail Junkie' and 'Glee'.

This picture shows the truest color but it looks so bad.  See what I mean most gradients look like this.

Day 9: Rainbow Nails

Well Mimi was supposed to put up to extrmely simple post this weekend but she didn't.  So I'm angry.   GRR!  Well to day was rainbow nails and I saw Rainbow Nail Art and Holo Rainbow, but i don't have anything fancy like that.  I don't even have Red, Orange, and Yellow glitter polishes.  Blogging really shows the gaps in my collection :(.  So I did rainbow skittles on each hand.

UP CLOSE:

Red: ALDO NAIL LACQUER 'Pampered Patent'

And I did the rainbow reverse on the other hand so that when you go like that they make a DOUBLE RAINBOW!!!

This is such a basic mani but I like it.  Tomorrow Gradient Nails and I'll post the Day 7 & 8 posts.  That's what's make this lack of post even more of a fail because I had all the pics for one of the post set up for one of them and it's not like I was asking for a essay or anything!!

Day 6: Violet Nails

Why don't they just say purple?  I never understood the purpose of the word 'violet'.  Any ways I have a ba-jillion untried purple nail polishes.  But I decided to be a butt and not use them.  I started out with *4* horrible coats of L.A. Colors 'Nuclear Energy'.  I have 20 LA Colors and that's because Mimi had a spa birthday and everyone got a mani and a bottle of polish.  I got all of the left over polish.   Unfourtunatly, there colors are so sheer (the shimmers are the worst).  There cremes are all jellys, and it takes at least two coats of glitter to get 'sparse glitter'.  Here's my swatch:

Sorry for the messy-ness, butt any more than two coats and I stop caring.   This is a weird color.  It went anywhere from a grey plum to a deep purple to the color you see here.  Well I honestly should've stopped there but I didn't.  I added Sinful Colors 'Dream On'.  That color dries matte but in some lights it's an AMAZING deep purle, or a darker magenta.  It's weird.  I did a Half n' half tape man and it was... well... awkward...

I don't like this manicure.  It makes me sad.  Oh well!  Probably going polish shopping this weekend!  Oh yeah BTW I'm going out of town so my ability to keep the challenge up is with Mimi.

Day 5: Blue Nails

Omg I'm not having to do some lane and depressing proof post!!!! Ok so I had a but load of blue untried polish so I decided to do a water marble and swatch two polishes in one post. Actually I think the saying has something to do with birds and homicide. Oh well. On a side note as I type this I'm watching CRIMINAL MINDS. I LOVE THAT SHOW!! "you may leave school but it may never leave you". Sry it's a quote from the show (did you see the end with Morgan's iPod?). 

On to my water marble I used so many colors. Four Sinfuls, a Sally Hansen and a Jessies Girl. And I used them on different nails like on my ring finger I only used two but on some I used all eight.

Sorry this is so messy but clean up is a pain in the but normally with water marbling I just pick at it the next day during school but today with the whole take pictures five minutes later thing...   But this is defiantly not my best water marble the Black and White wm I did.  Tomorrow is purple and I'm going away for the weekend so either Mimi's gotta go into super-posting mode for me or I'll have to schedule post.    errr they both seem impossible!

Day 4: Green Nails

Okay so I need you people to know that I am doing the 31 Day challenge.  But since I can't use the stupid NIKON isn't working (WHY IS IT BROKEN?!?!?).  So I just want you people to know (actually at this point not sure how many people is 'you people') that I am doing this challenge.  EVERYDAY.  And the only thing is that my dad's finishing some really big thing at work and so he's ben getting home later this week.  So of course when he does get home if I have time to swatch then I don't have time to get on here and blog 'n stuff.   Oh well...   OK I'm done ranting.

Of course the color came out weird.  Way too not yellow.  It's more of a yellow-green.  Also I know that this post is going up on October 12th but I took this picture and did the first part of this post on the 11th.   Here are the good pictures from later that night

I added this picture in because it goes from the green on the top to yellow on the bottom.   

But the actual color itself I LOVE  it took 3 coats so it was a little bit sheer but this is a really great color.

Proof of Challenge day 3

Sorry big project due tomorrow and my dad's coming home late so i can't use his better camera so i just used the Photo booth camera on my mac.

Day 2: Orange Nails

So today is orange nails and the only untried orange that I have is a Pumpkin Nail Lacquer (OMG BAR GLITTER!).  So I layered it over one of my favorite oranges

I love this bottle!  It's a happy jack-o-lantern on one side and angry on the other!  This orange and black bar glitter in a clear base and it's perfect for halloween

This 'Courtney Orange' plain with 3 coats.  It has a pretty gold shimmer to it.  That's about all I can say.  Well that and it's orange.

And then I put some of the glitter on each of my thumbs.  Can't wait for tomorrow's challenge!  My favorite color Yellow!!!!!!

Sally Hansen LACQUER SHINE 'Vibrant'

This is my 2nd to last LACQUER SHINE post and then I'll mainly be doing the 31 day challenge. 

Sorry I don't have a bottle picture, I normally do.  But it some how got deleted.  Anyways,  this is a really pretty pink and although there's probably a dupe somewhere I don't have anything similar to this in my collection.  This is two coats and it looks like this but pink. 

A few months back I had made a franken using little holo heart decals from Sally Beauty and purple blue and pink glitter.  I had also slightly tinted the base purple.  Of course I named it 'Unicorn Belly-Button Lint'.

Well that night I was going to a movie and wanted to put on some glitter.  Of course I didn't have a glitter that would match this color so I used my franken.  It's really spread out glitter and you have to work hard to get the holo-hearts but I think it's pretty.

Two Too Many Hauls

I'm a bad person.  I didn't share this earlier because I didn't have a camera.

So this first one is from Rite Aid and the red Sally Hansen was only $.49.  Although I used my moms store card, so every thing was cheaper.  And in my defense I got all of these for around $14.  On to what I actually bought!

Aren't they all pretty?!?!  Unfortunately the darker Sinful Colors and the two pumpkin ones (I love those bottles) didn't photograph well.  Although all the other are pretty good.  When I swatch them I'll make sure the colors are right.

And then the other day I went to Sally beauty and got a bottle of thinner (everyone needs that stuff) and swatch wheels.  And then Orly and China Glaze had breast cancer displays of all these pretty pinks.  The Finger Paints was on clearance for $1 and the China Glaze was in the pack with the Seche Vite was $9 so those were both on sale.  

As for the colors the only cremes are 'Go Go Pink' and 'Passion Fruit',  all of the others were really pretty shimmers.  And again I didn't try to get the shimmers to show but the colors are pretty accurate, except 'Passion Fruit' which isn't as red.

We're doing the 31 Day Challenge & Sally Hansen 'Dazzling'

Ok so there's this thing going around called the 31 day Challenge for nail bloggers to do.  A couple of the bloggers I follow have been doing this (Chalkboard Nails, and Rebecca likes Nails) and I had wanted to do it but was to scared our nail art skillz would suck.  But oh well here it is:

No one really knows where this originated from but there a smart people because I really like this idea.

So the first day was red nails and I was going to do a swatching series of the LAQUER SHINES:

And I present to you 'Dazzling'!

This is a deep red with a pretty intense shimmer.  And the lodgical non-nail polish lover in me says that it's a dupe for 'An Affair in Red Square'.  But the polish-crazy in me knows that it's not.  It just isn't.  This is a pretty color but I'm still buying 'Red Square' online.  AND NO ONE CAN STOP ME!! *crazy laugh*

Sally Hansen LACQUER SHINE 'Spark'

So a couple weeks ago my mom had to get some shoes and across from the shoe store was a Ross and I'd heard that they had nail polish, so of course I had to go in.

I found this set of 5 Sally Hansen LACQUER SHINE's and I bought it (duh!) and they're all shimmers except for 'Spark', aka the purple one.  it almost looks like it has actual glitter chunks in it.  It's also the only one that doesn't have another darker version.

Now I don't know about you guys but this looks totally purple in the bottle.  but strangely on the first coat it turned out to be navy blue.  And it only got darker with each coat (there was 2).

 This picture shows the truest of the color.  Although I was sad that it wasn't a purple I'm kinda glad because I have a lot of purple shimmers similar to this but I don't have any navy shimmers and it's a really pretty color.
